Are you ready for the February book of the month?
February’s book of the month is, “The Forty-Day Word Fast” by Tim Cameron. The Forty-Day Word Fast is broken down into two parts. The first is called “The Orientation”, which acts as an overview of how your words affect yourself and others. The second part is the actually forty day word fast that provides you with scripture, text, and a journal portion for you to reflect on your thoughts and words for the day.
This year I’m all about being the best version of me possible. So I’m really working on the things I put my energy towards (Check out my protect your energy blog here); people, shows, thoughts, and most importantly my words. I’ve begun reading the orientation chapters and yikes! Now I know I’m a work in progress loves, but I’ve realized I’m not always as positive as I think I am thanks to this book I’ve realized that fairly quickly. I tend to be sarcastic and this can definitely be taken the wrong way. I promise I don’t mean any harm, but I have to be aware of the way I speak to others; my tone, my word selection, and my nonverbals. I’m still in the beginning stages of the book and I promise to give you an update next week.
Here’s your homework assignment: Think about your conversations with others. In retrospect, are you constantly judging, complaining, criticising, negative, gossiping or being sarcastic? Don’t be shy.
P.S. Here’s a video sneak peek of my visual peeps.
Thanks for reading. Stay Selfish.
