Selfish Saturday Spotlight: Priiincesss

Welcome Back to Selfish Saturdays.

For this week’s selfish Saturday spotlight I had the pleasure of interviewing one of the hardest working women I know, Priiincesss. Priiincesss is a personal life and style blogger based out of Atlanta, Ga. She is originally from Haiti; where she where she was born and raised. Before blogging, she worked with a medical record company doing accounts payable. Apart from blogging, Priiincesss also owns an online boutique, PRIIINCESSS.COM. When she’s not working this superwoman spends her time running and training for marathons. She also likes taking advantage of quality time with the one she adores!!

Priiincesss granted me access to pick her brain. Check out our interview below.

How did you first get started with blogging?

I’ve always been into fashion I love playing dress-up, love shopping, and was already sharing what I wear on Facebook, so when I learned that I could create a website and share my looks I was all in. It wasn’t something I plan for it kind of just happened!

What inspired you to first start working on becoming a blogger?

Well, to be honest, I would say blogging found me. When I started blogging back in 2011 blogging wasn’t as popular as it is now. So I didn’t really have much to be inspired by. I learned about blogging just by being online and since I was already sharing my looks online,  I just created a blog and started blogging.

What was your first big break?

Well, I’m still working on my first BIG break, lol.. but I would say attending and covering WerkPraySlay by Koereyelle of the Single Wives Club last year definitely put me on the map and opened me up to a whole new audience.

Who were some of the mentors you met along the way?

I have met quite a few ladies within the industry but the top three ladies that I have met and been learning from over the years are Myleik of Curl Box, Koereyelle, and blogger Mattie James.

What were some of the biggest hurdles you faced when building your brand?

I think some of the biggest hurdles I faced building a brand has been the constant hardship of finding good hardworking and reliable people to work with. It’s just soooo hard to find people who’re as hungry as I am.

What blogs do you regularly read?
I read quite a good amount of blogs but just to name a few I’ll say
— Mattie James
— Xo Necole
—  Kela’s Kloset

You wear many hats; blogger, online store, mentor how do you do it all?

I just do, lol. Over the years I’ve learned that I can do it all, but not all at once. So I’ve learned to plan ahead, automate anything that I can, I create routines for myself and always work off some type of to-do list.

What’s the #1 piece of advice you would give anyone wanting to work in your industry?

Blogging is fun and exciting, but that’s not a good enough reason to start a blog. Make sure it’s something you are passionate about, be ready and willing to put in consistent work.
